6.) What should you do with your pet's waste while on a walk or in the yard?
Pet waste is not fertilizer.
Pet waste can contain bacteria that is harmful to us and other dogs. Always pick up your pet’s waste and throw it into a trash can or flush it down the toilet.
Pet waste left onto the ground will end up in our creeks, lakes and rivers.

Pet waste can also decrease oxygen levels or add excess nutrients to our creeks, lakes or rivers resulting in fish kills.
Outside drains or inlets go directly into the nearest creek, lake or river.
Throw the waste into a trash can or flush it down the toilet!
When you take your dog on a walk, make sure to bring a plastic bag.
Pick up the waste with the bag and then throw it into a trash can in the park or bring it home and dispose of it in your trash can. Also, remember to pick-up your pets’ waste from your back yard too. Remember, pet waste is NOT fertilizer!
